Introducing SDS:
Students for a Democratic Society
Film screening and discussion:
Columbia Revolt 1968
Thursday, March 6 7PM
University of Chicago
Harper Memorial Library room 103
1116 E. 59th St.
Come discuss the tasks for student political
organizing today, in light of the ’60s:
- What role in political and social change can
students play?
- How can students act politically beyond protest,
election campaigns and community service?
A chapter of the new SDS has been formed recently at
the University of Chicago, in tandem with chapters
forming throughout the country and Chicago.
We are seeking broad participation from progressive
political activists in building the new SDS and
politicizing students towards greater struggles for
social emancipation.
Come discuss today’s tasks for student political
organizing, in light of the problematic legacy of the
’60s, as we approach the 40th anniversary of the
events of 1968.
